About the Union
An independent, democratic workers’ movement since 1948
Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) was founded in Calcutta on 24-26 December 1948, when over 600 delegates representing 427 unions took the historic decision to build a workers' organisation free from the control of government, employers and political parties. Today HMS is a national trade union centre with more than 90 lakh members across 20+ states. The Haryana State Council is the state unit of this movement, representing workers and employees in the industries, establishments and services of Haryana.
